Mohawk Mountain Hike
Sunday, May 24, 2009 at 11:53AM Yesterday we drove up to Mohawk Mountain for a hike. I promised an adventure and we all agree we had one. We started with a picnic in the park and then went down the first trail we found. We missed the trail in one part and had to track back to find it again and as we went from 1640 ft we dropped down to 900ft above sea level. I don't think many people have been on that trail. We ended up in a marshy area with lots of prickers. We smashed our way through and ended up at a farm and eventually a regular road. We didn't want to go back through the brush again so we walked along the road and we went into the ski area. We took a break on the ski slope and then walked up the ski slope until it intersected with the trail again. Round trip was around 3 miles or so. Check out the gallery for more pictures:
